“Psychological thriller” is a term more abused than used in recent years, but The Loft, coming in January, shows some promise. At least the cast and its backstory is interesting. Here’s the trailer:

You’ve got the old Cyclops (James Marsden) and the new Bones (Karl Urban), the FBI agent from Crisis (Rachael Taylor ) and the beautiful doctor from The Last Ship (Rhona Mitra) all mixed up in Danish director Erik Van Looy‘s remake of his own 2008 film, Loft. The premise is pretty cool; the cast is super-strong. But in a set-up murder-mystery structure like this, it really comes down to the last ten minutes, doesn’t it? We’ll get to see what those minutes hold when the film releases in January 2015.
