It couldn’t be quieter for sci fi or suspense on the TV-machine tonight. And into that eerie silence we inject (almost literally) … Peeping Tom.\
If you’ve been following AMC’s revisit to the world of the dino’s, tonight’s the night for Jurassic Park III at 8:00 pm. The nicest thing you can say is that… um, Tea Leoni and William H. Macy were in it. Wasted, sure, but in it. And, um, uh, well, Chriss Pratt and Judy Greer are going to be in next year’s installment, Jurassic World. So there’s that … um…
Peeping Tom, 10:00 pm on Chiller. We don’t talk much about the Chiller channel, since it’s only available in a few markets (why tease you with thing you can’t see?). But on this otherwise arid night, Chiller gives us one of the most genuinely creepy movies ever made: Peeping Tom. Released in 1960 (yes, kids, they made scary movies even 54 years ago!), it’s the very quiet, very unsettling story of a shy, mumbling photographer who’s not only obsessed with his camera, but with the beautiful women he takes pictures of… and kills in the most gyahhhh way, while he films them. It would be icky enough in any decade, but back in the back-and-white era, with a camera that is both eerie and fascinating in its delicate complexity… well, it’s just weird, people, and it doesn’t show up that often. So: 10:00pm on Chillder, if you’re lucky enough to get it on your cable-box. And if you’re not, you can watch it for a couple of bucks on Amazon Instant Video, here.
