There are, at last count, 3,201 Stphen King novels…and a handful of them have not only been made into movies, but made into movies twice (cf. The Shining, Salem’s Lot, and soon Pet Semetary). Maybe adding Carrie to that list wasn’t really necessary — don’t we all still shudder at the mere memory of Sissy Spacek covered in blood? — but if it had to be done, you couldn’t do better than the deceptively sweet, secretly feral and just plain dangerous Chloe Grace Moritz as the shy little girl with the big-ass psychic powers.
