Writer/director Bryan Bertino is set to script the feature-length ‘adventures’ of Abe, a creepy robot in the near future who goes just a little bit…funny in the head.

Haddonfield Horror, one of our favorite sites for horror-related news (how do they keep up on all that?) just broke the news that Bryan Bertino, the writer/director behind The Strangers, that home-invasion horror with Liv Tyler and Scott Speedman, has been set to write the feature-length version of Abe, a truly wonderful and ultra-creepy short set in the near future, where a friendly, gentle-voiced robot who carefully reasons his way to murder. Lots of murder.

IBritish writer/director/FX artist Rob McLellan conceived the short, and wrote the first draft of the feature. Here it is…and you can see, there’s a lot to play with here…
