“The world as we know it has ended. A group of survivors on a mission now find themselves face to face with unspeakable dangers, some human and some…much bigger.” And  they ain’t kiddin’.

Enormous-Machinima-season-1-2014-posterTroll Hunter was one of the cleverest takes in found footage and modern myth-hunting seen in recent years. And now the writer/director of that underseen little gem, Andrew Overdal, is playing the same game of genre-twister with Post-Apocalypse Big Monster tropes. (Not that there was anything little about the Trolls).

This enormously smart and great-looking short (please, just the first of many!) from Machinima Prime and Prime Universe Productions, was directed by BenDavid Gravinksi. It’s based on the graphic novel by Tim Daniel and Mehdi Cheggour. The story? As one recent reviewer said, “This is what happens when the kaiju win.” And everything about it is good: the direction and editing, the art direction, even — shocker! — the acting, with professionals like Steven Brand (The Scorpion King, Samurai Girl), Billy Miller (Ringer), and Erica Gimpel (OMG, Erica Gimpel! Fame! Proiler! Veronica friggin Mars!).and many more, there’s some actual meat on these desiccated bones. Enjoy here, pray for more:
