Some things are just too cool not to pass along.
Apparently the Sapporo Snow Festival is a huge thing in Japan (silly American us; we just thought it was a decent beer). It’s been going on for 66 years, and various community groups and government agencies get together to make increasingly huge and awesome sculptures every year (the anime sculptures alone are worth the google).
This year, a group from Japan’s Self-Defense Forces — yeah, the army! — created an amazing sculpture fully endorsed by the foreign god Lucas. It’s one of the main attractions among more than 200 snow and ice sculptures at the festival. And face it: it’s cool.
